Lexington Christian Academy is pleased to announce it has achieved Project ADAM Heart Safe School Designation. Kendall Anderson, Salvation Army Community Relations & Development Coordinator and Crystal Hall, LCA Asst. Director of Admissions (6th-12th) joined Doug and Lyssa High on ABC 36 at Noon to talk about the kickoff of LemonAiD Days for The Salvation Army - Lexington, Kentucky. Check out the video here. David and Pamela Hauge were living out of state when they selected LCA for their children, David (7th grade) and Elizabeth (10th grade).

Beginning August 1, the Office of the Fayette County Sheriff (OFCS) will assign two sworn Deputies to serve as full-time School Resource Officers at Lexington Christian Academy’s (LCA) Immanuel Baptist (IBC) and Rose Campuses. Read More Here

Thank you to everyone who donated water for those affected by the devastating tornadoes in western Kentucky. We had a great crew of coaches, staff, and student volunteers (we even spotted an alum too!) who helped load the water this morning. Thanks to Christian Appalachian Project for partnering with us and helping to distribute the water to those in need. Please continue to keep our neighbors in western Kentucky in your prayers. 

When LCA and Rockcastle County schools collected more than 12,000 pounds of food for the Hunger Walk in September, we had no idea just how much this food would be needed. Due to the generosity of these students, staff, teachers, and families, CAP was able to donate 5,000 pounds of the food collected to the Garrard County Food Pantry, which was destroyed by fire on November 14, 2021.

“It was so much food we could not use it immediately in our pantry. We were planning on using it as well during the holiday season. When we heard of Garrard County really being in need, it was an opportune time to reallocate,” said Tina Bryson, Christian Appalachian Project. View the complete story here.

We were also happy to have a large group from LCA serving with CAP on Monday in Rockcastle County at the Grateful Bread Food Pantry and the Grateful Threadz Clothing Boutique. The group helped sort and pack student backpack lunches, while others boxed, bagged and reorganized thousands of clothing items so they can re-open soon. We are so thankful for our continued partnership with Christian Appalachian Project and look forward to more opportunities to serve in the near future.

Through a partnership with LCA, The Christian Appalachian Project (CAP) was able to expand this year's Hunger Walk event to Lexington. LCA hosted the Hunger Walk on September 16 to benefit CAP and to bring awareness to food insecurity. Read More Here

This morning Asbury University and Lexington Christian Academy made an exciting announcement! Asbury University will offer enrolling students from LCA the same tuition as they pay for their high school education. Beginning with the May 2021 class, LCA graduates who choose Asbury for their college journey, a renewable tuition-match for the same rate as the current LCA twelfth grade tuition is now available. This partnership will further provide high school students at LCA the option to participate in dual credit courses which may be offered at the high school, online, or on Asbury’s campus. We are so thankful for all the veterans who have served and are currently serving. Earlier this year, one of the fundraising items for the Eagle Gala was 1 to 1 laptops for the junior high students. We are excited to announce that we were able to purchase brand-new laptops for our 8th grade students! The existing laptops are still in great condition, and our 7th graders will be able to use those devices. Now we are officially 1 to 1 in the 6th Grade Academy (iPads) and Junior High (laptops). Thanks to everyone who supported to 2020 Eagle Gala to make this possible!

This LCA Spotlight features a conversation with Kurt Braun, former LCA parent and board member/chair and Coach Matt Ginter, former MLB pitcher and current assistant coach of the LCA baseball team. Dr. Cassondra Koett is beginning her 11th year at LCA. She taught AP Literature and Composition and Public Speaking for ten years before becoming the Interim High School Principal at the start of the 2020-21 school year. Read More Here

When the Ebel family relocated to the Lexington community and began researching school options, LCA's 6th Grade Academy immediately stood out to them because of the focus on STEM and the self-contained atmosphere. They knew that sixth grade is a pivotal time in a young person's life and recognized that the transition from elementary to middle school could be eased through this year of preparation. Read More Here

Tina and Huey Riddick have two sons who attend LCA. Dorian is 16 and will be a junior, and Dorron is 10 and will be in 6th grade. If they had to describe the LCA experience in one word, they said it would be, "Family!" Read More Here

Jessica and Mike Ragland have a daughter, Amanda, who attends the LCA 6th Grade Academy and a son, Pierce, who is a sophomore.  They share their thoughts on virtual instruction and why they would recommend LCA to other families. Read More Here

Donuts with Dads was started by Brian Ray, LCA Athletics Strength Coach during the 2018-19 school year for preschool-5th grade students and their dads. The event is held a few times each semester and has grown in popularity. Even though the school is currently closed due to COVID-19, Brian hosted a virtual Donuts with Dads and chatted with Ray Green, Lead Pastor at Immanuel Baptist Church. One dad commented that he really appreciated the virtual event and that it allowed for older siblings to watch as well. You can view the recording here.

Ashley and Brandon Gish have twins, Elle and Ford, who attend LCA's preschool. Ashley is also an LCA Alum (Class of 2006). They love the fact they're children can go all the way through school (preschool - 12th grade) with families and teachers who value the same things they do. Read More Here
