The Christianos Distinguished Alumni Award honors an outstanding alumnus of LCA for a life that typifies a commitment to Christ in every area of their lives and someone who has contributed to their church, their community, or their profession. The award is named “Christianos” which, in Greek, means, “follower of Christ.” The 2021 recipient is Mr. Jacob Glancy. Born and raised in Lexington, KY, Jacob is known to say that Lexington is the greatest place on earth and LCA is the greatest school to attend. As an alum from the Class of 2004, he attended LCA from preschool through high school where he then met his wife, Autumn Glancy, an alum from the Class of 2005. He has a unique perspective of the school as he watched it grow from a small school with campuses at various churches to what it is now.
Jacob went on to attend the University of Kentucky and Sullivan University where he received his culinary degree. Jacob was the banquet chef at The Campbell House before starting his own business, Jake’s Cigar Bar. He now also has created Jake’s Market and owns the Jimmy John’s in Nicholasville.
While being a business owner is his job title on paper, he would be the first to tell you his favorite title is family man. Jacob and Autumn have two kids, Winston and Addison Glancy. Winston is going into 3rd grade and Addison will be in kindergarten. It is with joy and a true blessing that he gets to see their kids have the same teachers he had. They attend Southland Christian Church.
LCA clearly has had an impact on Jacob. It built his faith, created lifelong friends and as mentioned, where he met his wife. For that he is grateful, and thanks God for the teachers and faculty that have been there along the way. He somehow never got a “D” hall, which is a testament to the teachers' patience in itself. As a thank you, Jacob has served on the Advancement Committee and was this year’s PTF president. As that position came to an end with the school year, Jacob and his family are ready to hit the road and travel. They enjoy boating, trips in their RV and going to the beach.
Congratulations to Jacob Glancy as our LCA Christianos Distinguished Alumnus.
LCA does not keep copies of high school diplomas in our archives as they are not legal or academic documents, but are rather a certificate of completion presented as a gift to the graduate. Official certification of your completion of the high school course of study at LCA is made only through the official transcript, which notes your date of graduation.
LCA uses Parchment, an online service, for official transcript requests. Please click here to request your transcript.
When you graduate from Lexington Christian Academy, it means more than just receiving a high school diploma. You are graduating with a class of students with whom you have grown, learned alongside, and deeply connected with throughout the years. Class reunions are a wonderful opportunity to welcome home your classmates and to continue to create wonderful memories.
