LCA Staff Spotlight - Dr. Cassondra Koett

Dr. Cassondra Koett is beginning her 11th year at LCA. She taught AP Literature and Composition and Public Speaking for ten years before becoming the Interim High School Principal at the start of the 2020-21 school year. Earlier this year, she earned a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California USC Rossier School of Education.  She and her husband, Dan, enjoy spending time with family and friends. Cassondra is also an avid reader and enjoys bargain shopping.

What is something that most people don't know about you? I have rappelled down the Big Blue building (in downtown Lexington) three times (410 feet).

When thinking about LCA finish this sentence, "This is where...": Love is planted and faith grows.

Why do you choose to work at LCA? God brought me to LCA when we moved from Pittsburgh 12 years ago and is now my second home. I love this school because what it means to our young people. There is no other place I have worked where people love and give of themselves for others more freely. This place is truly special - a second family to me. The students who have sat in my classroom are my adopted kids, and I love watching God work in their lives long after they have left our hallways.

What do students get at LCA that they won't get somewhere else? Relationships with adults who care about where they will spend eternity.
