National School Counseling Week
National School Counseling Week 2021, “School Counselors: All in for All Students,” sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), will be celebrated from Feb. 1–5, 2021, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems and how students are different as a result of what school counselors do. National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.
Lexington Christian Academy is fortunate to have five counselors:
LeAnna Hensley – Preschool-Elementary Guidance Counselor
Nancy Jaeger – 6th-8th Grade Guidance Counselor
Rhiannon Owens – 9th-10th Grade Academic Counselor
Heather Riley – 11th-12th Grade College Counselor
Joshua Palmer – 11th-12th Grade College Counselor
Dr. Scott Wells, LCA Head of School noted, “As a former high school guidance counselor for over fifteen years, I know very well the integral role our school counselors play at LCA. At all three levels, our counselors provide personal, academic, vocational, and most importantly spiritual advice and counsel to our students. The role that our LCA counselors play in the lives of our students is profound and immeasurable. Happy School Counseling week, Mrs. Hensley, Mrs. Jaeger, Mrs. Owens, Mr. Palmer, and Ms. Riley! Thank you for pouring into our students and for nurturing and equipping them to fulfill God’s calling on their lives through Christ-centered education!”
