Alumni Spotlight - Maria (Durick) Bennett
Maria (Durick) Bennett attend LCA for 13 years and graduated in 2002. After graduation, she attended Georgetown College and Eastern Kentucky University and earned degrees in Elementary Education and Elementary Leadership. She is currently the Director of Technology for Scott County Schools. She and her husband, Mark, have one son, Graham, who is eight years old.
When thinking about your time at LCA, finish this sentence, This is where...: "I learned that quality teachers built their classrooms around quality relationships. Many of my teachers cared deeply for us as students, and my teachers inspired me to become a teacher and build my own classroom around this same concept. Relationships first."
What did you love most about your time at LCA? ? I loved that we were seen as individuals and never as a number like we might have been at a larger school.
In what ways did LCA prepare you for college and beyond? LCA established a solid foundation that set me up for success.
