Alumni Spotlight - Wes Strunk

Wes Strunk attended LCA for 12 years and graduated in 2009. He fondly recalls his time at LCA, highlighting the supportive community and lifelong friendships formed through soccer and other activities. Wes earned degrees in civil engineering and business from the University of Kentucky before embarking on a successful career in engineering consulting. Wes married fellow LCA alum Alison Braun ('11) in 2015.

Wes began his career in Chattanooga, Tenn., working for a large engineering consulting company specializing in the energy sector. The couple then moved to Chicago, Ill. for Alison’s graduate studies in speech pathology, and this was also a career move for Wes to relocate to the consulting company’s headquarters. After moving to Delaware, followed by Charlotte, N.C., they welcomed their first child, Jovie, in 2020. Wes and Alison started their own consulting company with another couple and moved back to Lexington in 2021. Their second daughter, Margo, was born in 2023. Wes and Alison employ four other LCA alums at Strunk Robertson Consulting Group and strive to work hard while having an optimal life outside of work.

This is where: Students are loved by teachers and faculty, encouraged and challenged academically and spiritually, and where lifelong friendships begin.

Tell us about one of your favorite memories while attending LCA: Two-a-day soccer practice, early morning workouts with Pete, soccer games, Friday night football games, and socializing with fellow peers at lunch and in the hallways. The people you find at LCA at all these events, and more, are the kind of people who can love you and encourage you in a way that is life-changing.

Why do you believe it was important for you to attend LCA?  To be surrounded by people who are passionate about Jesus, and therefore are passionate about loving and teaching those around them as Jesus did.

How did LCA prepare you for college and beyond? While my major and career is math and science focused, LCA best prepared me for reading, writing, and communication. The courses most engineers struggle with, I was well prepared for.
