Alumni Spotlight - Maddie (Sjogren) Urbanek

Congratulations to LCA alum Maddie (Sjogren) Urbanek ('15) and her husband, Blake, on the arrival of their baby boy, Rhett, on March 31, 2023! 

Maddie attended LCA for nine years and then went on to attend Transylvania University. She graduated in 2022 as a pharmacist from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy with a dual MBA degree from the UK Gatton College of Business. She is currently working in a residency program as a pharmacist through UK and is utilizing a national grant she got to research, allowing colorectal cancer screenings in pharmacies for easier patient access. 

Maddie said LCA is where she developed her work ethic, found some of the strongest mentors in her life, and advanced her soccer career. One thing she loved about her time at LCA was having "The best coach ever - Coach Fugmann!"
