Alumni Spotlight - Kelsey (Ach) King (Class of

Kelsey (Ach) King was an LCA "lifer," which means she attended LCA from kindergarten to twelfth grade. Speaking about LCA, she said, "LCA was one of the best gifts that my parents ever gave me!" Kelsey went on to attend Georgetown College, where she majored in sociology and minored in psychology. She is currently the administrative assistant to Bill and Beni Johnson, pastors at Bethel Church in Redding, California. She is married to Mason, who also went to LCA, but they only met when they attended ministry school in California! Kelsey recently spent some time catching up with Brian Ray and talked about her time at LCA. View the video here or scroll down to play.

What did you love most about your time at LCA? I treasure the foundation in the Word of God that LCA gave me - there is nothing better!

What is one word that best describes the school? Legacy - LCA creates a place where faithful people are built - people who love Jesus and pursue Him, allowing that love to overflow into their families!

Tell us about one of your favorite memories at LCA. My favorite memory of LCA was my senior year of high school. My dad was diagnosed with cancer and in the midst of that journey, my teachers and families from sports teams supported our family in such a kind and intentional way. The Head Master of the school at the time, Dr. Ollie Gibbs, even met with my Dad and walked with our family very closely during that time. I'll never forget the love we felt! And my dad is completely cancer free!

From your own experiences, why do you believe it was important for you to attend LCA? LCA is one of the best gifts my parents ever gave me! LCA cemented a foundation in my heart to love Jesus, seek Him, have His Word in my heart and allow His Spirit to make me more like Himself! I'm so thankful for what my years at LCA taught me. It was important for me to attend LCA to choose to pursue Jesus in my own, personal relationship with Him.

In what ways did LCA prepare you for college and beyond? I felt so, very equipped when I went to college. The academic preparation at LCA is excellent. While it does require structure and responsibility, I was so grateful for the way LCA prepared me academically when I went to college.

What would you tell a friend to encourage them to send their child(ren) to LCA? I would encourage any parent to send their child to a Christian school, like LCA. There is such payoff for your sacrifice! What is built in your child's heart during their early years is integral to their growth as a believer and as a well-rounded human being. Years have passed since my time at LCA, but to this day scriptures and lessons will randomly surface in my heart, and I know it was from my time at LCA. It is such a wonderful, beautiful investment!
