LCA Alum, Gracie Elliott, Receives Award at UK

LCA Alum, Gracie Elliott (Class of 2019), has been selected for the 2022 Maurice A. Clay Award, which recognizes the outstanding graduating senior in each academic college at the University of Kentucky. Gracie is being awarded this honor for the UK College of Arts and Sciences.

Grace was chosen by the college because she is an exceptional leader who has provided service to the college while maintaining a strong academic record. While at UK, Gracie was an active member of the Chi Omega Sorority and was Publicity Director for the largest Greek philanthropy campus event. She was also Vice President of the UK Eventing Team, Social Media Director for the Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk, and Co-Coordinator for the College of Arts and Sciences Ambassador Program. She presented research titled “The Literary Imagination and the Supreme Court” at the 2021 Midwest Modern Language Association Conference, and is the Head Legal Intern at Athlete Advantage.

She is an English major with a Spanish minor and has completed her undergrad studies in three years as a member of the Lewis Honors College. She will be graduating Summa Cum Laude. This fall, Gracie will be attending the University of Richmond School of Law.

The UK Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society established the Maurice A. Clay Awards more than 30 years ago to honor Dr. Maurice A. Clay, who was an educator and professor at UK for more than 60 years. He was the epitome of service leadership, while assuming little recognition for himself. The Clay Awards are one way in which the university can bestow on graduating seniors a "Mark of High Distinction."
