LCA Announces Jeff Jones as New Head of School

Lexington, Kentucky (June 10, 2025) – Lexington Christian Academy is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeff Jones as the next Head of School. A seasoned leader in Christian education, Mr. Jones will begin his tenure on July 1, 2025, following the retirement of Dr. Scott Wells, who faithfully served LCA for six years and was an educator for more than four decades.
With more than 20 years of experience in Christian and classical schools, Mr. Jones brings a strong foundation of leadership, a heart for service, and a passion for cultivating vibrant, Christ-centered learning communities. His background includes serving in a wide range of roles from Headmaster and Principal to Teacher, Coach, and Director of Operations.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jeff Jones to Lexington Christian Academy,” said Brett Setzer, Chair of LCA’s Board of Directors. “Throughout his career, Jeff has demonstrated a remarkable ability to build Christ-honoring school cultures, empower faculty and staff, and connect deeply with students and families. His blend of spiritual maturity, professional excellence, and relational leadership will be a tremendous blessing to our community.”
Mr. Jones is currently wrapping up his role as Headmaster of Ascent Classical Academy in Colorado. Prior to that, he spent five years as Headmaster of the School of Logic at the Geneva School of Boerne (Texas) and 15 years in multiple leadership roles at Pusch Ridge Christian Academy in Tucson, Arizona. He holds a Master of Education degree with honors from Northern Arizona University and a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication Studies from East Stroudsburg University, with additional coursework in English, Literature, Latin, and the classics.
A native of the Midwest, Jones previously worked in banking and finance before being called into Christian education. He is joined in Lexington by his wife, Autumn, an educator with talents in fine arts, theatre, and coaching, and their two children, Mason and Piper.
“I’m humbled and honored to join the Lexington Christian Academy community,” said Jones. “LCA has a rich legacy of academic excellence and spiritual formation, and I look forward to building upon that foundation alongside a deeply committed team. It’s a blessing to be part of a school that boldly equips students to impact the world for Christ.”
