Alumni Spotlight - Tyler Johnson

Tyler (Brammell) Johnson attended LCA for three years and graduated in 1996. After graduation, he attended Kentucky Christian College and earned a degree in Youth and Family Ministry/Bible. He is currently a staff member at Southland Christian Church and continues to have strong ties to LCA. He serves on the LCA Board, and his wife Arianne, is an LCA elementary music teacher. They have two children, Emme (LCA Class of 2022) and Riley (LCA 8th grade).

What did you love most about your time at LCA?  My class was so small (37 people) that we all hung out together. There weren’t cliques, we were all just friends.

Tell us about your favorite memories at LCA: I had to shave my head for a student ministries event at my church, and I got called into the office because the principal thought I’d joined a gang!

From your own experience, why do you believe it was important for you to attend LCA?  It forced me to consider my calling.

How did LCA prepare you for life after high school? It helped me to formulate my Christian worldview.

Why did you want your children to attend LCA? Parenting in today's world is hard. Kids have struggles, temptations, and spiritual attacks that simply didn't exist when I was a teenager. Although God has given parents the responsibility of discipling our kids, He never meant for us to do it alone. I knew, as a parent, I needed to surround my kids with strong Christian teachers, mentors and leaders. LCA was a huge part of my discipleship process by providing those Christian influences. I wanted the same for my kids.

What have you been up to? Any news you'd like to share with us? We're always looking for life updates from our alumni.
