LCA Inducts Four Alumni into Athletics Hall of Fame

Dec. 16, 2025 - Lexington Christian Academy celebrated a special night of excellence as the Athletics Hall of Fame welcomed its 2025 induction class. The evening honored four former student-athletes whose dedication, talent, and character left a lasting impact on LCA.

The night began by recognizing Laney Frye, a 2020 graduate and one of the most accomplished golfers in school history. A four-year letter winner, Laney captured the KHSAA Individual State Championship in 2018 and finished runner-up in 2019. She helped lead LCA to back-to-back team state championships in 2018 and 2019 and was named Kentucky Miss Golf both years. In addition to her athletic success, Laney excelled academically, earning a 4.0 GPA at LCA. She continued her golf career at the University of Kentucky, earning a 4.0 as a business major and was named to the Southeastern Conference academic honor role. She was awarded the Edith Cummins Munson Golf Award and was a four-time WGCA All-American Scholar. Laney finished her career at UK ranked first in 2022-23 and second in 2023-24 in single-season scoring averages in program history. She recently earned her LPGA card, with plans to begin her professional career in 2026.

Next honored was Austin Hall, a 2018 graduate who made his mark on the basketball court through consistent effort and leadership. A three-year letter winner, Austin finished his LCA career with 1,125 points and remains the school’s all-time leader in blocked shots. During his senior ear, he averaged 7.5 rebounds per game and finished fifth all-time. He played a key role on teams that captured back-to-back district championships in 2017 and 2018, as well as an All “A” State title in 2018. He was named to the All-Region Tournament Team and Honorable Mention All-City during his senior season. Austin continued his basketball career at the University of the Cumberlands where he was named to the Mid-South Conference All-Academic Team. He has since returned to LCA, where he serves as a PE teacher and assistant coach for the boys basketball program.

The Hall of Fame class also included Carter Hendericksen, a 2018 graduate and three-year letter winner who finished his high school career with 1,272 points. He was named NCSAA large school division National Player of the Year as a junior. During his senior season, he averaged 18.7 points per game and 9 rebounds per game. He finished his career 4th all-time in rebounds. He was part of some of LCA's most memorable plays in history including the game-sealing dunk over Lexington Catholic in 2017 and a game-winning and-one after Kyle Rode deflected a pass against Lexington Catholic to advance to region play. Carter played collegiately at the University of North Florida where he surged into the history books in multiple categories and was named to several All-Conference teams, All-District teams, and All-Tournament teams. He signed to play professionally in Poland before his career was cut short due to injury. Today, Carter continues his basketball journey as an assistant coach at UNF.

Rounding out the 2025 class was Kyle Rode, a 2019 graduate and one of the most decorated players in LCA history. A five-year starter, Kyle scored 2,497 career points and holds school records for rebounds (1,023) and assists. He ranks second all-time in steals, averaged 23.2 points per game his senior season. He helped lead LCA to its first three district championships and was recognized as the 11th Region Player of the Year and a Mr. Kentucky Basketball finalist. Kyle continued his career at Liberty University where he garnered ASUN All-Academic honors and finished in the top 15 in program history with 1,498 points, 627 rebounds and 467 assists. He went on to play professionally with the Austin Spurs in the NBA G-League, and he's currently on the coaching staff at his alma mater, Liberty University.

The 2025 Athletics Hall of Fame induction served as a powerful reminder of the legacy built through commitment, faith, and excellence at Lexington Christian Academy—and the lasting impact of those who proudly wore the Eagle uniform.
