Student Support Services

Wilson Fundations - makes learning to read fun while laying the groundwork for life-long literacy. Students in grades K-3 receive a systematic program in critical foundational skills, emphasizing phonemic awareness, phonics/word study, reading fluency, vocabulary, comprehension strategies, handwriting, and spelling.

Co-Teach Experience  serves students who have gaps in one or more essential concepts that make it more challenging for them to perform at grade level.  Reading and Language Arts Programs incorporates Open Court Intervention in the classroom using the co-teach model, with small group instruction implementing individualized intervention strategies. 

Guided Math (K-3^rd) supports students’ development needs and abilities, by individualizing math support.  Support is student-centered, implemented in small group instruction and provides differentiated instruction. 

Bridges Intervention (4th-5th) -  Bridges Intervention (4^th-5^th)  provides targeted instruction and assessment for essential 4^th-5^th mathematic skills and concepts.  Bridges Intervention builds on each student’s abilities, implemented using small group instruction and the co-teach model.

Axiom Learning Curriculum (Grades 6–12)

Students enrolled in our Facilitated Learning Experiences (FLEX) courses receive instruction using the Axiom Learning curriculum—an evidence-based intervention designed to build essential executive functioning skills.

Executive functioning skills are foundational for academic success and personal growth. These include:

• Goal setting
• Time management
• Task initiation and completion
• Prioritization
• Organization
• Note-taking
• Following instructions
• Self-monitoring
• Self-advocacy
• Growth mindset development

Research shows that executive functioning skills are among the strongest predictors of success in college and beyond—often more so than traditional academic measures.

Through Axiom Learning, students engage in lessons that not only teach these skills but also encourage them to apply what they’ve learned to their own lives. This personalized approach helps students become more independent, confident, and capable learners.

LCA works collaboratively with a variety of professionals who specialize in pediatric therapies, including Speech-Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling. These services support students in areas such as communication, motor development, emotional regulation, and overall well-being. If students are unable to meet with their therapists outside of school hours, LCA allows for on-campus support and appointments during the school day.
