Alyse Treesh Named 2026 AATF-KY French Teacher of the Year

Aug 6th, 2026 - Lexington Christian Academy offers a lot of different paths when it comes to language programs, and the French course in particular is where a well-known and loves teacher is living out her passion. 

AATF Kentucky Chapter (American Association of Teachers of French) is for French Teachers across the great state of Kentucky to connect, share resources, and receive updates and information about AATF Kentucky Chapter sponsored events. Madame Alyse Treesh was nominated and named the 2026 French Teacher of the year for this program. 

"I found out that I was nominated by a friend of mine at Trinity. I was very honored that she would think of me and nominate me for teacher of the year," Alyse said. 

Madame Treesh is well-known by her students for finding ways to make her course material interactive, giving her students the chance to use the French they've picked up in real-world scenarios. 

"I love making crepes with the students, it's always a great learning experience for us. Usually, I start making crepes for them, and then on into their language journey when they start learning how to read, I have them read recipes and learn how to cook the crepes for themselves. That's something that's really fun that we get to do together." 

As an LCA teacher, Madame Treesh makes it a priority to show her students how to honor God in all they do. She said it's one of the many things that make LCA feel like home for her, especially since she can encourage her students to bring glory to God in the same way. 

"To be able to get to know them on day one on a very personal and relational level, and to be able to get to know them on that level with that spiritual connection has been really important to me," Alyse said.
