Coordinator of Student Intervention

Position description

The Coordinator of Student Intervention leads and oversees the development of a school-wide intervention program that supports the whole child. The Coordinator of Student Intervention is responsible for collaborating with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Principals, teachers, families, and students to establish and implement a framework that uses data to meet the needs of each student through academic, behavior, and social-emotional learning interventions. 

essential functions and basic duties

  • Maintain an active personal relationship with Christ and regular involvement in a local Christian Church.
  • Lead and monitor a school-wide implementation plan aligned with LCA’s mission and vision.
  • Have the ability to develop and write intervention plans based on assessments, educational reports, and other related sources.
  • Based on needs assessment, oversee the development of intervention protocols, problem solving processes, data-based decision making, progress monitoring, and communication and collaboration processes.
  • Monitor all students’ LCA Plans and conduct regular meetings to gauge progress and/or to update or to eliminate the plan if recommended.
  • Identify and implement school-wide universal screening for academics, social-emotional learning, and behavior.
  • Develop training programs and provide ongoing coaching for faculty and staff on research-based practices for intervention.
  • Ensure effective data collection, data analysis, and program evaluation and efficacy.
  • Establish and maintain campus procedures that support school policy and school procedures.
  • Follow all school policies as set forth by the school’s Board of Directors.
  • Follow all school procedures as set forth by the Head of School.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding matters of information related to students, parents, faculty, or administration.
  • Support the school’s leadership to parents and community in all written and oral communications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

education/certification & required experience
  • The Coordinator of Student Intervention must meet the standards as required by Cognia accreditation.
  • Eligibility for ACSI certification
  • Minimum preferred education: Master's Degree
  • Minimum 3 years successful classroom teaching and/or administrative experience, and/or familiarity with IEP/504 protocols is preferred.
