Mrs. Joy Sparks’ 8th grade English students recently finished their first writing project called, “Lockdown Laundry.” Each student had to interview two people about their experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic and then write a narrative nonfiction essay using one of those interviewees as the character in their essay. Congratulations to Jaxson Davis, LCA senior, who signed his letter of intent to play baseball at the University of Louisville.
Brianna (Arnold) Clement and her brother, Sam Arnold, were lifers at LCA. Brianna graduated from LCA in 2013 and Sam followed two years later. Both attended the University of Kentucky and have gone on to pursue careers in the military. Brian Ray recently spent some time talking to both of them along with their parents and Brianna's husband. The LCA Cross Country Teams ended their 2020 season by competing at the State Cross Country Meet on October 31. Senior, Connor Hayes, finished 3rd overall in the 1A Boys Individual. The girls team finished 4th overall, and individually, Tia Alchureiqui placed 14th.
Melinda Pettigrew has been at LCA for seven years and currently teaches fifth grade language arts, social studies and Bible. She and her husband, Bryan, chose LCA for their own children to attend junior high and high school when they moved here from Texas. Read More Here
