LCA Students Participate in Walk for Warmth
Led by junior, Tia Alchureiqi, a group of LCA high school students participated in the 2021 Virtual Walk for Warmth to benefit the Lexington Rescue Mission. Even though this year's event was a virtual one, registrants were encouraged to complete a two-mile walk, which the students did at Shilito Park on February 24, 2021. Through registrations and a Facebook fundraiser, the students raised nearly $1,000 for this year's event!

Two LCA Seniors Named as National Merit Finalists
Seniors Joshua Lytle and Zachary Feller have been recognized as National Merit Finalists. The National Merit Scholarship program recognizes students who score well on the PSAT, and those who score in the top 1% are deemed semi-finalists. In February, there are about 15,000 semi-finalists who advance to become finalists. Merit Scholarships will be awarded to about 7,500 finalists between March and June. Congratulations to Joshua and Zachary on this wonderful accomplishment!
Two LCA Juniors Named as GSA Finalists
Congratulations to juniors, Josie Jaeger (Musical Theatre) and Hadley Whipple (Vocal Music) on advancing to the second and final round of the selection process for the Governor's School for the Arts. Read More Here
LCA Announces New Academic Pathways
LCA announced today the addition of three new academic pathways including Business – Accounting & Law, Christian Ministry & Leadership, and Fine Arts – Visual & Performing Arts. These graduation tracks will be available to students beginning with current rising freshmen who represent the class of 2025.
“We are excited to add these additional academic pathways,” said Head of School Dr. Scott Wells. “They will offer personalized learning opportunities for our students ensuring they meet their goals and allow us, as a school, to continue to equip and nurture students to fulfill God’s calling on their lives through Christ-centered education.” Read More Here
Alumni Spotlight - Frederick Rupp & John Stein
Frederick Rupp and John Stein were both LCA lifers (attended K-12) and graduated in 2015. We're excited that they have teamed up this season to come back to LCA and coach the school's 7th grade basketball team. Read More Here
Connor Hayes to Continue Running Career at Stetson University
Congratulations to Connor Hayes, LCA senior, who has signed to continue his academic and running career at Stetson University. Connor has had an outstanding cross country career at LCA, where he was a three-time region champion. He also had two 3rd place finishes and one 2nd place finish at the last three KHSAA State Cross Country 1A Championships.
Two Seniors Sign to Play Football at the Next Level
Congratulations to Will Vernon and Nathan Boggs who signed letters of intent on February 4, 2021 to play football at the next level. Will is headed to North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, and Nathan will be playing at Georgetown College. Read More Here
Teacher Spotlight - Aaron Merz
Aaron Merz has been teaching at LCA for 21 years and currently teaches AP Economics and Economics to high school seniors as well as AP Psychology to juniors and seniors. LCA Recognizes Counselors During National School Counseling Week
National School Counseling Week 2021, “School Counselors: All in for All Students,” sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), will be celebrated from Feb. 1–5, 2021, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems and how students are different as a result of what school counselors do. LCA is proud to recognize it's five amazing counselors and all that they do to impact the success of our students. Read More Here
