Purpose Statement

The purpose of the Parent Teacher Fellowship "PTF" is to be a parent-lead organization offering all preschool through 12th grade LCA parents and teachers opportunities to connect with the school and build relationships through service and involvement.

Message from the PTF President

Dear LCA Families,

It is a privilege for me to serve as the Parent Teacher Fellowship president this year, alongside an amazing group of parent volunteers that form the PTF steering committee. Every LCA parent and staff member is part of the PTF, and we look forward to serving alongside you in some capacity. Being a part of your child's school is a gift, and no matter where you heart and talents lie, there is a way for you to be involved. Below you will find a list of the areas you can become involved in--it may be chaperoning a field trip, helping with a staff luncheon, planning a fundraising event, meeting to pray for our school and children, participating in a service project, volunteering in the lunchroom, or something else.  Please see the right side of this page, where there is a list organized by campus of the events for which we are in need of parent support. There are so many different ways to help, from just being present at an event to preparing a dessert or supplying drinks. This list will update frequently throughout the school year, so please check back!

May you and your family have a blessed year, we look forward to serving with you!

Campus Support

Work with the campus offices and provide support with Book Fair, lunch, Box Tops, staff luncheons, grade level (K, 6th, 8th) graduation events, and much more.

Community Service/Outreach

Work with Advancement Office and Headmaster to coordinate school-wide service opportunities.

Fundraising Events

Work with Advancement Office to plan, coordinate, and host fundraising initiatives and events. Please email Faith Hacker for more information.

Parent Ambassadors

Work with the Admissions Office to serve as LCA’s “Welcome Wagon.” Parent ambassadors would be trained to provide tours and/or assist with open house events. In addition, these parents will be asked to reach out to new families, answering their questions, introducing them to other LCA families, and helping them with their transition to LCA. If you are interested in helping our Admissions Office with this important role, please email Lesley Sizemore-Hardin for more information.

Parents in Prayer Team

The purpose of the Parents in Prayer Team is to encourage and facilitate prayers of parents and grandparents of LCA students for the entire LCA Community. We do this by holding informal prayer times at the beginning of school on Mondays – Thursdays, distributing prayer cards to each of the school offices at the first of each week and including prayer requests in each edition of Wingspan. We also look for other opportunities throughout the school year to encourage and facilitate prayer. Join us! If you are interested in being part of the team please email David Samford.

School Social Event Team

Work with the Administration and Advancement team to coordinate school events for students and their families, including Peppermints and Pearls, Grandparents Day, Trunk or Treat, Jam Fest and more. Please email Faith Hacker for more information.

Teacher Appreciation Events

Work with Administration to organize and host school-wide “Teacher Appreciation" events. If you are interested in helping out in this way, please contact your PTF campus chair or the campus offices.

Open Positions

The Parent Teacher Fellowship exists to offer parents opportunities to connect with the school, building relationships through service and involvement.  The PTF Steering committee meets monthly to coordinate these efforts, planning events to support staff, students and those that are school-wide.  There are three open positions starting this fall:  Vice President, Treasurer, and High School Campus Chair.  All positions are two-year terms.
The Vice President serves in a support role for one year and then becomes President the next.
The Treasurer helps create the PTF budget, oversees committee expenditures and generally monitors the finances.
The High School Campus Chair works with the HS staff on quarterly staff luncheons, coordinates Teacher Appreciation Week, organizes parent volunteers and fun events for the students.  You must have a child at the HS campus the next two years.

You can download the application HERE. Please turn in this completed application to any LCA campus office, Attention: Carrie Hancock, PTF President, by Monday, April 16th.
